What are some of the different roles within the shipping industry?

  • Roadfreight Operator – planning and scheduling deliveries of imported goods
  • Stock Controller – monitoring and managing stock so that sufficient storage space is available, and so that new stock can be ordered
  • Trade Compliance Officer – screening of export licences, and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation in general
  • Warehouse Operative – picking, packing and preparing goods for despatch
  • Health & Safety Manager – ensuring the safety of employees, visitors, contractors and other parties; and making sure companies comply with relevant legislation
