European Export Road Freight Forwarder

Are you an experienced freight forwarding professional looking to join a growing and ambitious logistics business?
Our client is seeking a European Export Road Freight Forwarder to join their busy operations team in Felixstowe. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with freight forwarding, transport or logistics experience who enjoys managing shipments, building customer relationships and delivering exceptional service.

You will be responsible for managing European export road freight movements from quotation through to final delivery. Working closely with customers, hauliers, overseas partners and the customs team, you will ensure shipments are delivered efficiently, compliantly and profitably.

Duties
Manage European export road freight movements, including groupage, part loads and full trailer loads.
Plan and coordinate collections, departures, transit movements and final deliveries across Europe.
Prepare accurate and competitive quotations while maintaining company margins.
Negotiate rates and services with hauliers, overseas partners and suppliers.
Liaise with the customs team to ensure all export documentation and customs requirements are completed correctly.
Keep customers informed throughout every stage of the shipment journey.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and European partners.
Manage customer accounts, monitor activity levels and identify opportunities to increase business.
Resolve shipment delays, customs issues and operational challenges professionally and efficiently.
Ensure all costs, charges and operational information are accurately recorded within internal systems.

Requirements
Previous experience within freight forwarding, transport or logistics.
Knowledge of European export road freight operations.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines.
Commercial awareness and an understanding of profitability and margins.
