Transport Operations Planner, Rotterdam, Netherlands

€45,000 – €55,000 (Dependent on Experience)

A rapidly growing logistics and transport business is seeking an experienced Transport Operations Planner to join its expanding operation in Rotterdam.
This is a hands-on operational role requiring an individual with strong knowledge of Rotterdam Port, capable of managing live container movements and responding quickly to operational changes throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage approximately 150 container movements per week between Rotterdam Port and the company’s Rotterdam warehouse
Coordinate around 50 weekly container movements between Rotterdam Port and Hanover, Germany
Plan and oversee container movements across multiple Rotterdam terminals
Monitor live operations and react quickly to congestion, delays and operational changes
Work closely with warehouse, transport and operations teams to ensure efficient delivery of services
Maintain effective communication with customers, terminals and transport providers

Additional Opportunities:
The successful candidate will also help develop and grow the following areas:

FCL Transport:
Coordinate deliveries to Amazon fulfilment centres and customer locations across Europe
Develop relationships with carriers and subcontractors
Support the growth of European transport services
Rail freight experience would be advantageous

FTL, Groupage & Distribution:
Assist in building a carrier and distribution network across Europe
Develop groupage and pallet distribution services
Support operational growth as the fleet expands

Candidate Requirements:
Strong operational planning experience within container transport and logistics
Excellent knowledge of Rotterdam Port operations and terminals
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Experience managing live transport operations
Knowledge of European road transport networks
Existing carrier and subcontractor network would be highly advantageous
Rail freight experience desirable
