Traffic Operator, Felixstowe
Salary: £45,000
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced and Traffic Operator to join their busy transport operations team. This is a key position responsible for the day-to-day planning and coordination of their fleet, ensuring that customer requirements are met efficiently while maintaining compliance with all transport legislation and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Planning and allocating daily transport movements
Monitoring vehicle and driver activity to maximise operational efficiency
Liaising with customers regarding delivery schedules, collections, and service updates
Managing driver communications and providing operational support
Ensuring compliance with Working Time Directive, Driver Hours, and tachograph regulations
Maintaining accurate transport records and operational documentation
Responding to operational issues and implementing effective solutions
Coordinating with warehouse and traffic teams to ensure service delivery targets are achieved
Supporting the achievement of KPIs relating to service, utilisation, and cost control
Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers

Requirements
Previous experience in a Traffic Operator, Transport Planner, or similar transport operations role
Strong understanding of UK transport legislation and compliance requirements
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workload effectively
Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
Proficient in transport management systems and Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of container, general haulage, or logistics operations would be advantageous
Team player with a flexible attitude
