Job Description

Our client is based just outside Felixstowe and is looking for an experienced Deep Sea Import Forwarding Clerk to join their team. The successful candidate must have minimum 2 years experience in a deep sea role

– Coordinating the import of goods via deep sea shipping
– Prepare and process import documentation, bills of lading, invoicing and customs forms
– Coordinate with customs team to facilitate the clearance of imported goods
– Ensure compliance with regulations and tariffs, including correct classification of goods for duty calculation
– Communicate with clients, suppliers and shipping lines to obtain information and resolve issues related to import shipments
– Dealing with hauliers to arrange collections and deliveries
– Arrange devans
– Track progress of import shipments from departure to arrival, ensuring timely and safe delivery
– Monitor vessel schedules and update clients on any changes or delays

Salary c£28,000 plus performance related bonus
