Trainee Road Freight Coordinator
Job Description
Job Role
· Looking after day to day UK haulage operations
· Becoming knowledgeable of the UK haulage market. ie, trailer types used, pricing, locations across the UK
· Communicating between clients and suppliers on a daily / regular basis
· Sending bookings
· Transport planning across the UK & Northern Ireland
· Negotiating costs between clients & suppliers
· Progressing knowledge base on UK transport & client requirements
· Building strong working relationships with clients & suppliers
· Maintain and build upon the progression of the UK department
· Collaborate with other operational departments when help is needed
· Activities to increase brand awareness and generate new leads.
Requirements
· An Energetic attitude to introduce to a fast paced operations environment
· Excellent communication, phone manner and customer service skills
· Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a strong desire to succeed and take ownership of the UK department
· Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
· Office based role at our Felixstowe base
· Willingness to learn & grow within the logistics industry
· Basic computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel & Outlook emails)
Basic knowledge & experience in the freight industry is a bonus but not a key requirement
